72 People Died in Nepal Plane Crash |  Yeti Airline Plane Crash  in Pokhara

There is a wave of sorrow in Nepal and all over the world due to this worst air crash in Nepal’s 30-year aviation history. As you all must be watching in news channels and newspapers, the day before yesterday on January 15, 2023, in a very tragic Plane crash in Pokhara, Nepal, all 72 people on board the plane died.

There is a wave of mourning in India and Nepal as well as in the whole world due to this worst air crash in Nepal’s 30-year aviation history.

According to the information received so far, the Yeti Airlines plane model ATR 72–500 was about 15 years old. This plane was bought by Kingfisher Airlines of India in 2007. 

In 2013, this aircraft was handed over to Nok Air and after which it was finally included in Yeti Airlines in 2019. 

According to sources, along with 68 passengers, 4 crew members were also on board the plane. According to the reports received so far, all the people on board the plane died in this tragic accident. 

According to reports, the plane took off from Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport to New Pokhara International Airport at around 10.33 am.

This airport has been started only 2 weeks ago in place of the old Pokhara International Airport. 

While landing, this accident happened between the old and the new airport into a hill on the banks of the Seti Gandaki river. 

According to the information received from the news channel and internet, there was no information about any bad weather at the time of landing and from the preliminary facts and the pictures and videos shown over the internet, it appears to be some technical fault in the plane. We will keep you informed as new information comes in. 

This is Nepal’s biggest air crash since the crash of Pakistan International Airlines Flight 268 in 1992. 167 people were died in that tragic accident when Pakistan International Airlines Flight 268 was preparing to land on Kathmandu‘s Tribhuvan International Airport on 28 September 1992

There are many distressing aspects also coming in this accident.  Plane’s CO – Pilot Anju Khatiwada who died in this accident, her husband Dipak Pokhrel, who was also working as a co-pilot in Yeti Airlines itself, was itself died in a plane crash 16 years ago.

Under another sad news, 4 friends from Barisur town of Ghazipur were telecasting their air travel live on Facebook during the plane crash.

All the friends were looking very happy and were really enjoying their flight, but just in few seconds sadly all of them left this world.
